After an evening of no activity I decided to try one more spot before calling it quits, the siding near Seymour. There I found an eastbound coal train waiting on a westbound. I arrived just in time to catch the meet, but there was one problem, I had forgotten my tripod. I ran to the head end and knelt down beside the tracks and very carefully held the camera as still as possible and started shooting. Many frames were blurry, but I managed to sit still enough to capture a few 1/6 sec. and 1/5 sec. shots handheld. The two met just after total darkness had fallen and the passing empty kicked up dust as it creeped past.
