Working an early shift can sometimes be beneficial. On my way to work I noticed the full moon looked like it might be setting right as the sun was rising. Fortunately I have a good view of this scene from my office so as the moon continued to fall and the sun continues its rise the sky began to turn pink with Alpenglow. I grabbed my camera and made this image at CP1140 on the Alaska Railroad. This is right where the yard joins the mainline for the trip south. In the background is Cook Inlet and the Alaska Range. Not a bad day to be at work.
