The west end of Richmond Hill Yard has 12,000 horsepower lined up in the form of LIRR's DM30AC fleet. There's a bustle of activity taking place on the east end as all of the long Montauk trains that just arrived in the yard are being cut apart and made smaller for the next day's commuter runs. These engines are dual mode, operating on third rail power while in electric and a 12-710 EMD while in diesel.
