A 10 hour layover while flying back to the states following a deployment in Southeast Asia provided me with a chance to check off a major item on any railfan's bucket list; ride Japan's Shinkansen. While I only had time to ride out to Suburban Tokyo, it was enough to complete impress. Trains run in greater frequency than most subways due and arrive at the station within seconds of when they suppose to.
The worst of railroad design. Please, send me your entries / suggestions for the "Album of the ugly trains of the world" (past or present, paint scheme or shape).
