About half way to Magma Junction, the #5 made a stop for water at what was known as Desert Tank. The temperature was still hovering around 115 degrees.
#5 has just left Superior on its way to Magma Junction and the connection with the Southern Pacific. At this point the fireman opened the blow down and moistened the desert.
