Chicago & North Western Railroad C44-9Ws No. 8608 and 8707 lead a 37 car North Platte to Oakland train of pigs, racks, & stacks on the former Western Pacific through Marblehead on Aug. 3, 1996.
The train rounds the large curve at Marblehead. The operation Lifesaver train in route to Northern California is flying across the Old Western Pacific main.
