Any updates on the status of SP 1744 would be much appreciated. We rode behind it in 2001, when it was pulling the Big Easy Steam Train. After that it was for sale, asking price $800,000. I was glad to see it get a new life, even in Colorado, but apparently the heavy rebuild / major repairs it was rumored to need sidelined it there. It may be rather light for the mountains, but down here in the flatlands, with a three- or four-car train, I think it would be in its element.
