What a trip down memory lane. Starting in summer 1984, our family used to visit friends of my grandmother to pick a few cherries out of their orchard. You could actually see most of this bridge from where we were just up the hill from the east side of the Columbia River. I would always stop to watch when a train crossed over the bridge and run along the west side of the river heading to or from Wenatchee. That was way back in the heyday of Burlington Northern. Back then, the trackside code lines were all intact and possibly still in use but definitely in tip top shape. I think they started removal of the code lines in the 1990's.

That's an interesting bridge with a late-built (1925 over 1892 original construction) add-on on increase its load limit, possible at the expense of going from two tracks to one. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Island_Railroad_Bridge_(Columbia_River).
