The gauntlet track is surprising. I didn't know any still existed on railroads in the US.

They have gauntlet track on the ex-Lehigh Valley main line at the NJ Transit stations in Union and Roselle Park as well, to allow freights additional clearance when needed to pass the elevated platforms without damaging them. https://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?city=Union&country=New%20Jersey,%20USA They only have it on one of the two main tracks as they do here. I don't think all freights need the extra clearance, but it's there when needed.
