Spurlock on March 11, 2022  I've heard the term "lift" used in a couple of conversations based on Canadian railroading. "Trains and Locomotives" on RFD-TV aired a program featuring two retired engineers, one each from CN and CP, who described trying to "lift" a train at various times and locations. Could you explain the term "lift" in that context for those of us not familiar with it? Posted by Michael Berry on March 11, 2022  A synonym for pick up I guess.
