Wonderful old photo, looking at the autos in the picture this must be from the late 30's early 1940's, not sure of the age of the car by the station.

Nice old time photo (possibly the late 1930's or early 1940's?). An era when men dressed up in suits and wore hats when they were out in public. Interesting, this is the second photo on RP in a few days that shows an electric unit that has both a scissor style pantograph and a trolley (wheel) pantograph (I've never seen or noticed this arrangement before).

Thank you for your comments. I’ve done a little research into the pantograph/trolley pole question. Apparently not all overhead electrical lines were designed to be used by a pantograph. For example trolley pole lines use a “frog” to help divert the trolley pole at a switch point. The frog would extend below the overhead line making it incompatible with the pantograph.
