That is a fairly normal water color in areas where there is glacial melting!

@FSWood, the Athabasca river is colored by glacial sediment.

Ah, okay. The places where I was born and raised are more well known for palm trees and/or alligators than for glaciers; and where I live now is along a river well known for its muddyness, that glaciers would be involved (obviously) never occurred to me.
