Nice! One of my favorite Amtrak locomotives - always thought they had a nice lean and mean look to them. Great catch - very cool to see a Corridor crossing since eliminated. Thanks for adding the map location! Nicely composed, too - with the crossing gates.

Interesting to see cages on the windows. Gives it an ominous feeling. I'm guessing there was quite an issue with things being thrown at trains back in day.

Thanks Mitch. They were impressive locomotives, especially when pulling one of the Florida trains of the era- "The Champion," "The Silver Star," etc. I hope that the RR Museum of PA will be able to cosmetically restore their unit (964) sometime in the near future.

This is one neat photo, lots of interesting stuff that cannot be recreated. Since the gates closed off both sides of the street was this crossing manually operated?

James, the gates were automatic and came down at least 30 seconds prior to a train reaching the crossing. The warning bells would only sound while the gates were descending.
