UP lawyers would have a fit watching this scene.

Nice photo, love the PA's

What would the legal beagles have a problem with? Just curious.

PAs in SLO! I love it - Great shot.

Wow, excellent. I don't think PAs were on the coast for much longer. Love it!

Ya think the hogger is "hamin' it up" for the camera ? Just a bit ? Oh well, it's California, EVERYBODY wants to be in the movies.

The managers and lawyers would loose it over the fuel and water hoses strung out, the guy on the nose with no fall protection, the crewman improperly boarding/dismounting the locomotive and the locomotive stopped right over the switch points. and no highly visable outerwear.

Right, and to think we actually rode bicycles with no helmets back then too!!

The majority of safety rules in place today are GOOD rules. The only one I'd change back is getting on and off moving equipment. Otherwise making the RR safer is a good thing. I love how people brag about how in "their day" they didn't have to wear a reflective vest or do any of the extra steps we do today. Yes, and in "their day" guys would get themselves coupled between cars, broken limbs, or even traumatic amputations on an all too common basis. The assertion that every Railroader back in the old days "did it better" is a joke. Most of them were drunk, careless and in a hurry. Funny how nostalgia removes those pesky details...
