Kind of strange looking beasts with that short nose but something different, and neat for being a change of pace.

Along with the short nose the windshield arrangement gives the engineer a lot more visibility from far out right down to the coupler. This may not be a good safety device in a head-on collision, however, it does appear to make for easier operations especially in switch-outs and yard work.
