Sooo much cooler than the heritage units!

Beautiful shot. Nicely composed. Lovely loco and the building looks great.
Umm....yeah....this is pretty freaking amazing! Great light, great composition with depot. You REALLY scored on this one. I am jealous!
Sure was nice of them to put it in a position to be photographed! Great job!
Great catch. That is cool.
Oh, man take about luck. I was out of town myself but who would imagine you could get a shot like this even on a good day.
Wish that one could run in revenue service!
Good work, Jonathan!
Very, very well done! Right time, right place, and lucky with the light & sky!
Probably a really dumb question(s), but..... Who owns this unit, why was it repainted, and where was it going?
It's a piece of VA Transportation Museum's stock. It was in bad cosmetic shape and NS agreed to repaint it for them. It is going back to Roanoke to bask in the Sun once again on display inside the Museum. It's a shame it has no guts to move on it's own.
Thanks for the info Allan. I agree with you, it would be sweet to see it running around on it's own. Bummer....
If I was NS i would of done some secret tinkering and make it run on its own power back.

Now THIS unit probably would not be worth the cost to NS to get it up to running order again. However look at it this way: it IS a kind of a Heritage unit all on its own. Wonderful photo Jonathan!
