This is called "dropping" a car. Indeed, you don't see this very often these days.

I haven't seen this type of car movement done since the early 1970's on the FP&E R.R. in Fairport, Ohio. Definitely a trade skill that requires just the right touch. Thanks for sharing this modern glimpse of this time honored task.
