The mast on this signal is different than most C&O signals, therefore making it look a-typical.

This signal has always puzzled me since seeing the photo when it was first posted. This is from a very early C&O color light signal installation dating from the early 1920's. An article was written up on the installation in the June 1923, trade publication, Railway Signal Engineer.
