Ahh yes, the 'odd couple!' 722 and 750 spent much of that summer touring the Southern. The two engines were doubleheaded out of necessity to pull longer, heavier trains than any of SOU's steam engines at the time could pull by themselves... eventually Southern (and later NS) would start using larger, more powerful engines. Great catch Tom! Wish I could have been around in those days.

I was on board this trip at age 14. This train went through Huddleston on the Virginian. Huddleston is my Mom's home.
