I'm almost certain it's PTC driven, though I can't explain exactly why. I do know the wiring is different for the tri's than the searchlight. The signals were replace in kind originally because of cost. As long as the wiring needs to be done for the new EBCS East Npaerville and the West Naperville signals, might as well replace the searchlights. The extent to the east and west for now, who knows!

Great shot, Paul! Indeed, the new installation of tri-colors has to do with electronic "logic" that comes with the PTC system.
