What a tragic waste,does no one want to preserve them?

The willingness to preserve steam engines generally is low - which is sad as these are really the last left here. They have been held now for some time by Transnet, and I suppose cannot be held for ever. Many have deteriorated badly. Unfortunately also the few preservation bodies that are interested do also not have the resources available to save everything of interest.
