Gorgeous shot! I am highly annoyed that I couldn't get out railfanning these last couple of days with all the spectacular clouds out there.

Great lighting, I love the clouds. Nice shot!

Looks like luck was on your side with this one. Excellent work.

Cool clouds and shot Nscalemike!

Thanks for the comments gang...the sky only cleared about a minute before the train hit the detector about 2 miles north...(RR east). I definately lucked out.

Great picture Mike! The first, and last time, I was at that spot was when I spotted a southbound train while heading into Vegas. I thought I was going to get an opportunity to take some pictures from that exact spot at the perfect time with the late afternoon sun nearing sunset. Unfortunately, the southbound train stopped at the Erie siding.

I saw that shot and I said to myself "That looks like Nscalemike", or did I say, "That looks like N-scale, Mike". Can't remember which but certainly an excellent capture. So many pieces come together, a bit of luck, the storm clouds, the location and compostion.

I'm speechless, been a short while since I've visited this website, and I'm glad I got back to it in time to see this one before it slips through the cracks of time.. very very nicely done.

Spectacular and very moody photo! Dark cloud is a major element of this absolute composition.
|
Absolutely stunning. Would love to use it as a desktop pic but not with the annoying watermark at the top. Otherwise, a superb picture. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice image, Mike. It's so great when things work out.
|
Nice work there Mike.
Been wishing for another opportunity to bag something in full sun with the black skies.... Looks like you had good times for sure.
|
Wow. This is an amazing shot.

Amazing shot! Great lighting and composure. Well done.

Tremendous! Elevations foreground and background and a glass-flat middle, very interesting geography, with a fantastic capture.
