Its great when you get some luck that changes a good shot into a fantastic one - and you got locos too (isn't it mainly DMU's over that bridge normally ?)

Terrific shot. It's great when it all comes together for a picture like this. Chris, UK

This is a great shot but I am wondering how good of a pilot you must be to not scrape the sides of the ship against the walls.

The line is close now (from 1995) for passenger trains except a freight every 2 weeks. But if any railclub pay regard to excurcion is wellcome by Hellenic railways. I think it will be very nice a hired freight with some oil tanks and box cars with double Alcos on head. So railfans of the world who likes Alco’s DL 532,537,543,500 and MLW MX620 get on board !

Well done, Bill! Thanks for sharing that gem. I didn't realize passenger service had been discontinued since 1995 on that line. Amazing - the Alcos are still running They were built back in the early 1960's as I recall.

Hard to believe that boat can fit in the canal. Excellent shot.

Fantastic! I toured the Hold Lands in July 1973 for two weeks and got a picture of this canal lacking the boat and no train on the bridge. Was a good trip with very few pictures taken of trains. I guess I was in the wrong spot for train pics.

First of all i did a mistake, the line closed in 2005 and not in 1995 as i written. I peg you pardon guys. As about the meter gauge Alcos from a total fleet of 12 units still be in use 11 units after 40 years ! Now taking part a recostruction program by NREC-USA.
