BNSF Railway train M-BARLAC1-05A heads west into the setting sun on its way from Barstow CA to Hobart Yard in Los Angeles. BNSF ES44DCs 7718, 7705 and 7738 are up front, with two more ES44DCs, 7765 and 7749, as the rear Distributed Power. The train is passing milepost 5.76, so it has yet another 139.04 miles (more or less) to go. (Lenwood, California – January 4, 2014)
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
