At the timetable change in December 2022, the Goldenpass Express (GPX) started with a first train pair on the Interlaken East-Montreux line, a joint product of MOB and BLS with a direct train that can be re-gauged. From Interlaken Ost via Spiez to Zweisimmen, the train runs on standard gauge (1435 mm), continuing on meter gauge via Gstaad to Montreux. But at the end of February 2023, BLS prohibited further operation on the standard gauge section, as unacceptable wear was found on various switch frogs, which could be traced back to the new vehicles. After extensive test runs and a correction of the wheel spacing (the bogies do not have continuous axles but single wheels), service could be resumed on June 11, initially with a daily train pair starting at Montreux in the morning. Train PE 4068 from Montreux to Interlaken Ost is reaching destination with leading cab car ABst # 384 and not visible Re 465 # 002 of the BLS in the rear. The carbodies were built by StadlerRail, designed by Pininfarina, the gauge changeable bogies built by Alstom.
