ALCO Safari Day 8, Delaware Lackawanna: Sitting to the side of the Von Storch shops is recently acquired M636 #41. This unit is in the process of getting a full rewire, despite a rumor, it will not be stripped for parts to fix DL 3000 after a recent derailment. It's pretty obvious this is an ex Cartier unit, but it started life in 4/1970 as CN 2300, the class unit of their M636's. It has also worked for the NYSW and WNYP,
Don Colangelo, retired CMO (and sometimes piano player) at the DL Scranton shops cared for the many ALCOs, MLWs and a few EMDs that passed in and out of South Scranton and Von Storch shop doors.
Here is a look and many of those units.
