Taking cover. The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is in hibernation on Monday, August 31, 2020. As of February 2019, service on the railroad was temporarily suspended while a major rebuild is commenced. Its Abt rack system cog railway is being replaced along with extensive renovations on its Manitou Springs Depot, while its rolling stock (manufactured by the Swiss company Stadler Rail) is under protective cover. It is currently protected that service will return in May, 2021.
