With heavy brake dust and in heavy dynamics, this 776-07 blast past the north end of a small double track section at Pkin with a AC-DC conversion unit leading this 2x2 coal train. The train has been dropping down grade out of Stuarts Draft. Old N&W era style signals still are in service at the control points on this line from Roanoke to Shenandoah. This train is bound for Hyco, NC, from Shire Oaks, PA. The NS 1800 is the ex-NS 2537 that was rebuilt at Progressive Rail into SD70ACC.
The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia boasts some impressive scenery and trains, some of the best in the state. This album is for all photos taken in the Shenandoah Valley.
