Built by General Motors Diesel (on London, Ontario) as Canadian National GP9 4276 in January 1956, this locomotive was rebuilt in May 1995 into a "GP9RM" and renumbered to CN 7082 (and reclassed to GS-418d). Interestingly, even thought these have chopped noses, the front of the locomotive is the long-hood end (note the "F" on the side sill). ON September 30, 2018, CN 7082 was found behind the railroad's Woodcrest Shops in Homewood, Illinois, and appeared to be out of service. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
