An eastbound coal train sneaks thru the high water in downtown Burlington. The Mississippi River crested on June 2nd at 24.48 feet. The crest was the 3rd highest crest on record with the record of 25.73 feet set in 2008. Most of the rail head was above the around the Amtrak depot here. One spot the cars were still kicking up a small waves behind me. The dispatcher was also cancelling the 5 mph slow order thru this area for all the trains. The coal train is working between Creston, IA, and Galesburg, IL, the next crew change point. The load is bound for a plant at Bladwin, IL.
