BNSF HKCKSPO is slowly entering the siding at Thompson Falls, Montana, to meet a train on October 1, 2014, with the head end of an eastbound BNSF coal empty already passing the west switch of the siding in the background. The westbound freight is powered by three leased Montana Rail Link SD45s—382, 319 and 328—now labeled SD45-2s.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
