This train just spent the last few days touring the eastern US for the 50 year anniversary and celebration of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co, an Investment bank, and a major UP stockholder, and descendant of the original Harriman Trust, The train ride was for politicians & dignitaries that rode on the NJT-NS, thru New York, and on the Port Jervis Line. Now the train is westbound deadheading back to Council Bluffs to be put away.
Here the train rolls thru the central Iowa landscape as they work between Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown, just passing thru Norway. The 1943 did the honors as the leader while on the NS. The UP temporarily installed NS cab signal software for the trip. The 7166 was added at Proviso for the trip back out to Iowa as the old CNW ATS isn't compatible with the NS cab signal system.
