Here in 2018, more than 100 years from the start of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad and nearly 40 years after it's demise, is the ghost of the Milwaukee Road. Tucked away in a corner of the Idaho Panhandle is the St Maries River Railroad. Operating former MILW GP9's and running over former MILW track, the little railroad still earns it's keep. In this scene, likely never before photographed, the St Maries is returning from Plummer after picking up the UP's delivery. The train is crossing Pedee creek, and is barely visible from the roads in the area. Off in the distance, crossing Chatcolet lake, is the remains of the UP Wallace branch, now a rec trail.
