The normal afternoon hotshot bound for Lathrop, CA, has just crossed over at CP 108 in central Iowa. The train is following the passenger special as the dispatcher works trains around each other and MofW between Marshalltown and Blairstown. Seems like one can see a small parade of westbound Z-trains in the longer summer months along the main in central Iowa. Following the PCHCB today was the ZG2LT, ZG1BR, and ZG2OA, all about hour apart by time the evening came around. This Z-train normally is the largest one in the parade as this guy was 4x1 DP-ed today with some refers catching a ride west.
