The main reason I was out today with the boys was to see the westbound deadhead move of the UP passenger special heading back to the Bluffs. This train just spent a few days touring the eastern US for the 50 year anniversary and celebration of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co, an Investment bank, and a major UP stockholder, and descendant of the original Harriman Trust, The train ride was for politicians & dignitaries that rode on the NJT-NS, thru New York, and on the Port Jervis Line.
Here the train rolls thru the central Iowa landscape as they climb into Luzerne on the UP Clinton Sub. The 1943 did the honors while on the NS as UP installed NS cab signal software for the trip. The 7166 was added at Proviso for the trip out to Iowa as the old CNW ATS isn't compatible with the NS system.
