The first rays of the rising sun fall on Lamia Plain, as train 1511 crosses a stone bridge on its way to Athens. This is k.p. 207 of Athens-Tessaloniki mainline, in a magnificent 110 years old 50 mile section which was very recently closed down, due to the construction of a new, high -speed electrified line, a few miles to the south.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
