Where else would you find "The Crescent", but in the Crescent City! Former Louisville and Nashville Railroad Observation car "Royal Street" (Pullman-Standard, 1950) and Kansas City Southern Railway 7015 (ex-Conrail 6818, SD50) sit in Metairie, LA at the KCS Yard on Monday, October 23, 2017. While the "The Crescent" is often thought of as Southern Railway train, it was in fact handled by a variety of railroads over its journey from New York, including the L&N for its final 318 miles into New Orleans.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
