It's the day 2 of Sound Transit's +4 schedule. Train 1520, the first afternoon northbound train to Seattle is having some problems and is behind schedule. It was supposed to have left nearly 20 minutes ago and needs to leave soon or wait for another inbound (southbound) train. Meanwhile train 1511 has arrived a few minutes late. It will make it's station stop, disgorge it's passenger on to the very recently completed south platform and head south for Lakewood.
As for the status of the project, the bridge structure is complete , has been ballasted and a portion of the ties and rail installed. The platform is some time away from completion, while the new Cascades/Amtrak passenger station is complete and ready for occupancy. Won't be long now before passenger trains along the South Puget Sound is a thing of the past.
