With 3 engines and 12 cars, Amtrak Train 4 blasts east on the BNSF Marceline Sub. at the 422 signal bridge near Orrick.
There was no #4 yesterday, because it struck a misalignment in the track near Cimarron, KS and derailed 7 cars, some toppling over, resulting in 32 injuries.
The lead unit and the rear 3 cars deadheaded to Kansas City last night on Train 3. The plan was for them to head east to Chicago if 4 was late this morning with passengers from the train involved in the wreck. #4 was late, but not late enough to justify a seperate move, so the consists were combined at Kansas City Union Station, and the Chief went east out of town with an inflated consist.
