Struggling southbound up the "High Line' at Unicoi, a pair of YN2 GE's split the Clinchfield Signals on their way to Erwin. This was the "High Line", through Johnson City, which was constructed to relieve congestion in downtown Johnson City, a less steep grade, and a shorter distance between two points. Over half of the "Low Line" still exist and is operated by the East Tennessee Railway.
