CSX is bringing in the new year nice and late! Here we see a loaded trash train just 30 miles from his destination in Petersburg, Virginia. While the stars are shining overhead, the Northeast has just been pounded with 3 feet of snow, delaying this train a full 2 days. The expired crew's engineer forgot a belonging in the cab, and walked to the cab with flashlight in hand to retrieve his belongings. Also, CSX had to lease some power for this train, seen in the form of an HLCX SD40-2 in the trailing position.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
