At around 6:00 AM on Dec. 1st, BNSF freight M-GFDNTW put 32 cars on the ground at Bluffton, MN. The accident blocked the eastbound Empire Builder #8, forcing it to stop at New York Mills. After sitting there for a while, this set of freight units pulled the train back to Detroit Lakes to allow the passengers to board buses for the continued journey east. The empty train was then towed back to Dilworth, seen here passing the ag facilities of Glyndon late in the day.
