ARR 4318 leads the Aurora Winter Train just south of Willow, AK on its way back home to Anchorage on a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon. The Aurora Winter Train typically runs once a week, heading north to Fairbanks on Saturday and back south to Anchorage on Sunday. This year the Alaska Railroad decided to run two mid-March, mid-week trains to entice the spring break crowd to ride the train and to give other folks options for shorter get-aways here in The Great Land. The ridership looked pretty strong from what I could see as the train breezed by me after getting my shots.
