The silence of the small coastal town of Elands Bay is disturbed by a loaded iron ore train consisting of 342 wagons about 3,7km in length passing through, traveling from Sishen in the Northen Cape to the port of Saldanha on the West Coast. Leading the train is a Class 15E electric loco and Class 43 diesel loco (GE C30-ACi). Above the leading locos in the distance is the second helper set and the end of the train can be seen on the left above the ocean disappearing behind the sand dunes.
Classes 7E, 9E, 11E, 14E, 15E, 19E, 20E and 21E.
7E & 11E are 25kv AC locos. 9E & 15E are 50kv AC locos and the remainder are dual-voltage (25kv AC & 3kv DC).
