An assortment of 3'6" gauge locos are seen receiving work in the Don River Railway workshops on the outskirts of Devonport, Tasmania. From left to right; 'M4,' an ex- Tasmanian Government Railways 4-6-2 built in 1951. M4 usually operates the Sunday trains, but is currently in for some major work over summer. Next is a John Fowler & Co. loco dating from 1887, which as you will have noticed is wearing a 'Thomas' livery. Behind that is CCS25, a Beyer Peacock build from 1905. In the back right-hand corner is a little four-wheel Ruston loco built for the Mt Lyell Mining Company in 1937. I'm not sure what the loco is in the right-hand foreground, if anyone does please let me know!
