While many of my posted images of railroading in Salt Lake City feature the downtown skyline bracketed by granite cliffs, here's something completely different. Union Pacific's Long Beach, CA to Global 1, IL stack train rambles east through a soggy landscape at North Yard. The downtown skyline is faintly visible in light rain while the Wasatch Front is not to be found at all, cloaked in heavy storm clouds.
