Rolled in 1947 at Colorado Fuel & Iron, this 115 rail most likely saw service for one of the pre-BN roads before getting converted to CWR and being laid here. It's gone all the way from 40 MPH under BN to 10 MPH now, but still holds strong under covered hoppers filled with fertilizer. On this cold morning, it sparkles under a thin layer of frost. The head of the rail is only 1/2 covered in frost though, evidence of the passage of W&I's highball a few minutes ago.
