SP GP9s 3005 and 3007 in Commute train service at San Francisco, CA on August 28, 1975. (In the Bay Area, the trains operating between San Francisco and San Jose were known as "Commutes" and not "commuter".) These GP9 were built by EMD in April 1955 with dual control stands for use on these trains (and as a result, red "wings" on both ends as well, since either end could be on the point of a train). SP 3005 was originally SP 5623, and SP 3007 is the former SP 5625. SP 3005 has since been preserved as SP 5623 and repainted back to its original "Black Widow" colors.
