Remarks & Notes
The first of many such arrangements to come, three of four new repaints for US Sugar. We have ex-503 (nee-B&M 315) leading ex-501 (nee-MILW 184) and the as-yet-unlettered 3001 (SD45 shell, Tacoma Rail 3001 nee-PRR 6237) which is fresh from interchange in Sebring. Over the next couple years, this will become the look of USSC. While railfan speculation lends itself to say this is an "SAL" tribute, it looks more Bay Line to me...and, frankly, depending how you expose this paint in your camera, the shade will vary a hue or two. It was also said to be a rip on John Deere. Truthfully, they came up with a scheme to reflect the farming communities they serve.
