| Brightline 112 crosses the St. Lucie River at Stuart, FL. The train is on the bascule span that allows marine traffic to pass. This bridge is a point of contention for both the railroad and the city. It is the only single-track section remaining on FEC main between Miami and Cocoa where Brightline operates. The presence of Brightline has now caused the bridge to be lowered far more frequently than it used to, which displeases boaters. A double tracked replacement bridge with better clearance is planned. |
